Support the HECC Food Pantry

Every dollar feeds a neighbor.
Every gift fuels hope.

The Howard & Evanston Community Center (HECC) Food Pantry provides hundreds of families each week with nutritious food and household essentials. With recent changes in federal food supplies and threats to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), we’re facing new challenges in keeping our shelves stocked. Your financial support helps fill that gap, ensuring families can continue to access the food and essentials on which they depend.

Your gift will sustain and nourish families when they need it most.

100% of donations made here directly sustain the HECC Food Pantry.

Give Grocery Gift Cards

Gift cards to local grocery stores such as Jewel-Osco, Aldi, Target, or Walmart allow us to quickly respond to specific needs, especially for items like baby formula, diapers, or special dietary foods.

If you’d like to contribute gift cards, please consider increments of $25 or $50 to help us serve more families efficiently.

Gift cards can be mailed or dropped off at:

Support Essential Household Needs

Many of our pantry guests are parents and caregivers who struggle to afford basic household items that food assistance programs don’t cover. We’re launching a special donation drive to collect these high-need essentials so families can focus their limited resources on other priorities.

We welcome new, unopened donations of:

      · Diapers (sizes 3–6) and baby wipes
      · Infant formula and baby food
      · Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant
      · Menstrual hygiene products

Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10 AM and 2 PM, or by appointment. To schedule a group drop-off, please contact us at: info@howardevanston.org.

Why Your Gift Matters

Each week, more than 270 families rely on the HECC Food Pantry. When you give, you help ensure that:

      · Parents can bring home nutritious food for their children
      · Seniors have access to healthy groceries
      · Neighbors facing hardship can find hope, dignity, and support.

Together, we can keep our shelves full and our community strong.
